Happy Retirement

Joseph Ratzinger is the first Pope with a driving license to resign.

Soon after his election in 2005 he sold his car, because of course the position came with a company car, the Popemobile. His car used to be a VW Golf IV built in 1999. The same car I was driving back then, and I’m still driving now. So I’m curious. What kind of car is he going to buy now? Even if they’re not going to renew his license, he will still need a car. Does he like Golf VII? And what is his approach to fuel, environmentally and cost wise? Will he go for the LPG, or is he going to wait for the announced methane version? Or maybe he plans to buy the car of the affluent retiree, a Mercedes.
